Join Joan, our talented seamstress, as she guides you to turn your favourite fabrics, keepsake clothing (or fabric we provide) into useable and beautiful cushion covers. She'll walk you through the process of templating, cutting and pinning, and show you how to use a sewing machine to turn your ideas into reality.
Joan loves to share her skills and appreciates that everyone will have different knowledge levels when it comes to upcycling and sewing. Whether this is your first time upcycling, or you're just looking for more community while you stitch your next piece, you're welcome at this Sew Simple event with Joan.
**Please bring whatever material you'd like to stitch to create your new cushion cover. If you don't have material to bring, ZERO has a fabric that you are welcome to use

Give old clothes (or bags) new life with beautiful nature-inspired block prints. This will be our second annual Sustainable Fashion Week at ZERO with blockprinting, a clothing swap and a mending circle, all happening side by side.
Take your fashion to the next level by adorning your clothes with prints designed by ZERO artists. Choose from animals, flowers, or inspiring words prints. Bring your own clothing to print on OR bring clothes to swap at the clothing swap (happening simultaneously) and then decorative your new-to-you garments with fun nature-themed art in a variety of colours. A great event for adults and children alike.

Explore the Dye Garden, then create beautiful bundle-dyed textiles using seasonal plants and dye flowers that have been organically grown and harvested by hand. A wonderful experience to learn about natural dyes and how they are grown.
All materials provided. No experience needed. This inspired event will be taking place at Rosamund Community Garden, a tranquil haven near Pewley Down.
