VENUE ACCESSIBILITY
Blenheim Palace: There is level access from the main entrance to the entrance of the Orangery Restaurant where the Sustainable Fashion Show takes place. Once inside, there is a lift to the restaurant for wheelchair and scooter access. The maximum weight in these lifts is 200kg for safety reasons.
TAP Social Oxford: Step-free access with a slight lip at the entrance, a large single cubicle, and an accessibility-friendly toilet.
Vale and Downland Museum: Most areas, including toilets, are accessible to visitors with mobility impairments. A stairlift assists with access to the main galleries and a wheelchair is available for visitors to borrow. Unfortunately, as the museum is housed within a historic old building, the Research Library and Mezzanine Gallery are not accessible to wheelchair users.
All venues are accessible unless specified.
MEET YOUR HOSTS:
Joining forces across Oxford, Cherwell Collective and Makespace Oxford are two brilliant organisations leading community action across Oxfordshire.
Makespace Oxford creates change through community connection in Oxfordshire. They bring together local people and resources to create happy, healthy, thriving communities. Four core pillars govern their work that focus on reducing waste, connecting people and nature, empowering communities, and sharing provisions, tools and skills. It’s a social enterprise dedicated to transforming the land and property system through practical place-rooted prototypes. They unlock empty and underused spaces with and for communities, transforming them into welcoming, affordable and accessible places for work, culture and community.
Makespace Oxford builds the capacity of grassroots groups and organisations that are making the change we need to see in the world whilst also influencing policy and regeneration practices to ensure communities benefit directly, creating more just and sustainable systems. They work across three horizons: unlocking spaces today, building towards community ownership for tomorrow, and transforming the property system for generations to come.
