As part of our Restitch the Future project, in collaboration with Bath Spa University’s Future Fashion Works (BSU), we’re recruiting a Development Project Manager. This role will coordinate the project for A Single Thread and work closely with BSU to manage the collaboration.
Role overview
Reporting to: A Single Thread Founder/Director
Location: Bristol. Remote working, with regular face-to-face working as needed.
Hours: 2 days per week (0.4 FTE)
Salary: £36,800 pro rata
Contract term: 12-month fixed term. With potential for extension.
Start date: 1 January 2027
Probation period: 3 months
The Development Project Manager (DPM) is responsible for overseeing the Restitch the Future (RTF) project for A Single Thread (AST), in partnership with Bath Spa University’s Future Fashion Works (BSU). The project will be co-delivered by the two organisations, and the DPM will act as a bridge between the two teams to ensure AST meets its deliverables. The project’s primary objectives are to develop a comprehensive playbook for sustainable and resilient high street hubs and to drive business development to ensure AST’s financial sustainability. This role involves project management, strategic planning, partnership mapping, business development and creating resources to support the growth and resilience of AST’s hub network.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Skills & Experience
- At least three years experience in project management, particularly with funded initiatives, including data management, reporting, and accountability.
- At least three years experience working with non-profit or charitable organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in business development for SMEs, including innovative income stream creation, and financial sustainability strategies.
- Experience in strategic planning and developing resources for community-based initiatives.
- Experience in project mapping, including partnerships, resources, and networks to identify opportunities for growth and collaboration.
- Experience of working with local authorities, NGOs, or community organisations to facilitate partnerships and initiatives.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of A Single Thread’s core programmes and campaigns, their purpose and structure.
- Passion for sustainable fashion and social justice.
